"Adler von Krautsand" - Sailing ship
A traditional ship
For visitors of the island Heligoland, the trip always starts with an adventure. The usual cruise liners can’t fit into the small harbor of Heligoland, which the passengers get ashore by “Börtebooten”. The community of Heligoland gifted the Seaside City of Bremerhaven in 2000 with the “Börteboot No. 3”, which is now a part of the Schiffergilde fleet.
The “No. 3” is a classic for service vessels. Long before tourists were allowed back on the island, the “No. 3” served as a freight,- and fishing boat. It also helped rebuild Heligoland after the war.
